This course is designed to review the new regulations around interoperability and benefit design to reduce risk to your practice. The 21st Century Cures Act will significantly change the way health information is handled, the way data analytic research is performed, and the way patients view their health records including your documentation. In this two-hour course, we will see the new requirements for chiropractors and how you should respond to the impending requests from patients and researchers alike. Moving beyond the compliance requirements, we will also explore the amazing possibilities that these new regulations will create for the chiropractic profession as we will be able to use the massive new data available to continue to demonstrate the power of chiropractic and increase the number of patients that see a chiropractor while validating the incredible results they will experience.

Jay Greenstein, DC, CGFI-L1, CKTP, FMS

Dr. Jay Greenstein is the CEO of the Sport and Spine Companies – Sport and Spine Rehab, a multi-location, multi-disciplinary, evidenced-based practice in the Washington DC Metro region; Sport and Spine Athletics, a state-of-the-art health and fitness facility; the Sport and Spine Rehab Clinical Research Foundation, a 501-c3 dedicated to high quality, clinical research; and Kaizenovation® Consulting which coaches businesses on Six Sigma, human capital management and the Entrepreneurial Operating System®.

Dr. Greenstein has professional board positions at the state level as the President of the East Coast Associations’ Independent Physician Network, the national level as Vice Chair for the Council for Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP) and at the International level as a member of the research and finance commissions for the Federation of International Chiropractic Sport (FICS).

Dr. Greenstein was Chiropractor of the Year for both the Maryland and Virginia Chiropractic Association’s in 2010 and won the Smart CEO Volt Award for Technology Implementer for the small business category. He was recently selected to the state of Maryland’s Governor’s Office of Health Care Reform to serve on the Essential Health Benefits Committee. Dr. Greenstein sits on multiple community and business advisory boards in healthcare, banking and information technology.

Dr. Greenstein was also selected to be the Chef de Mission for the International Sports Chiropractic Association to run the Chiropractic Sports Center at the World Olympians Association Reunion Center at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Additionally with his clinical practice Dr. Greenstein has served as a recommended provider for the National Football League Players Association for the Washington Redskins, and since 1997, has been the Official Team Chiropractor for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.

Marc Abla is serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Illinois Chiropractic Society. He has been with the Illinois Chiropractic Society since 2002 and is a Certified Association Executive and graduate of the Certified Leadership Series through the Illinois Society of Association Executives. Additionally, he is a member of the Illinois Society of Association Executives, the American Society of Association Executives, Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, and the American Chiropractic Association. Marc currently serves on the board of directors of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations as the District 2 director.

 

Katy Talento, President/CEO

Katy Talento, president of KFT Consulting, is a Health Rosetta Associate Advisor, a licensed health benefits consultant, veteran health policy advisor and epidemiologist. She recently left the White House as the top health advisor to President Donald Trump on the Domestic Policy Council, where her job was to advance the president’s agenda to increase health care price transparency and price competition, end surprise medical bills, lower prescription drug prices, expand affordable options in the individual and group/ERISA markets, reduce the burdens of the Affordable Care Act, promote innovative employer sponsored coverage models, expand health IT interoperability, combat the opioids and other drug addiction crisis, eliminate domestic HIV/AIDS, and promote bioethics in life sciences. 

Prior to her White House appointment, Katy served five U.S. Senators over a 15-year period, including as top health advisor and manager of legislative staff and oversight investigators. She also worked in the private sector helping multinational energy companies protect their global workforce from infectious diseases such as malaria, dengue, and the largest community-based HIV/AIDS service organization in the US. On the faculty at Georgetown University Medical School, Katy managed the Washington site of a multi-site NIH-funded pulmonology study. 

A compelling communicator, Katy has delivered speeches to large audiences, served as Director of Speechwriting for the Republican National Committee during the successful 2010 election cycle, and has written a number of published opinion pieces, web copy, and video scripts. She spent two years as a Catholic nun and has worked with the poorest of the poor from East Africa to industrial Russia and inner-city America. Katy received a Master of Science degree in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health and an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia. She lives in suburban northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
